In the wake of recent events, students are beginning to stand up for the fact that schools should not be places in which they should fear for their lives. Gun violence has become an increasingly visible and prevalent problem, especially in schools, and it is important that action is taken to make these dangerous weapons less accessible. Therefore, St Paul students will march to draw attention to and stand up against gun violence on March 7th, 2018. Students will walk from their schools to others, gathering momentum from each school along the way as students join. The march will then take over Marshall Avenue in front of Central High School, and students will march to the Minnesota Capitol building, arriving at approximately noon. Students unable to march, or those at a greater distance from the capitol can also join at this time (or anytime during the march!). This combination of students from all over the city and state will show unity in the fight against gun violence, and hopefully add momentum to the movement.
